How Meadowlark Designs Came Alive

Designing and building furniture has been a dream of mine dating back to my high school years and beyond, working as a carpenter building houses and such. Although another career and other family commitments interceded, the passion never waned. Throughout the years I’ve enjoyed woodworking in many forms, from restoring a classic 1946 racing sloop to countless other projects including tables, desks, built-ins, renovations, additions and more. However, throughout it all I've longed for a perfect, well equipped workshop; a special place where I could design and build furniture of my own inspiration. So I designed and built that too. It took the form of a traditional timber framed barn using time tested techniques dating back to the craft's Norwegian roots. But first, I needed the right place to build it!

After years of searching, my wife Joyce and I finally found the ideal piece of property in Lyman, Maine on which to sow the seeds of both our dreams. With beautiful rolling meadows, woods, and a meandering brook bordering the land, we are surrounded by inspiration in a peaceful setting.
